In the working world, I find myself holding back more often than I would in my personal life. In other words, I refrain from speaking my mind a lot.
I've found that this leaves my emotions in mild disarray, and have taken time to think on these things. A wise woman once said, "You are a heartbeat. You can beat your important heartbeats louder, with more energy. Not to take over, but to matter."
Today I had the chance to say how I felt--I didn't hold back. I didn't speak out of turn or with too much emotion, but with a lot of thought. It felt good. I've noticed that I always feel better when I speak my mind, but something about getting older makes me hold my tongue more often than not. What causes people to lose their outspoken nature? What has held you back from speaking your mind?
